The poplin is 100% cotton, 80/2 construction, from a mill in Lombardy that has been weaving shirting since 1876 — the same cloth as the Lace Midi Dress, which means the two pieces share not just a stripe but a hand: the way the fabric moves, the way it presses, the way it softens with each wash without losing its surface.
The silhouette is a boxy pullover with a half-placket — no buttons to fumble with, no full placket to gap at the chest, just two horn buttons at the collar and a clean opening below them. The sleeves close with two buttons each — one at the wrist, one at the forearm — a construction detail borrowed from tailored shirting that you notice only when you're already wearing it. The two slit pockets sit at the hip and disappear into the side seams when not in use. The tonal monogram is embroidered on the chest — visible in the right light, absent in others. The back is cut clean with no yoke seam.
Every decision in this top was made in favor of the version with fewer visible decisions.
