Striped Shirt in Poplin

$390.00 $

A striped poplin shirt from a Lombard mill that has been weaving shirting since 1876 — 100% cotton, 80/2 construction, the cloth that gets softer with every wash without ever losing its line. Oversized through the body, a single back pleat, an embroidered monogram, and a hidden placket finished with mother of pearl buttons engraved with the Tess Lorenz mark. The shirt you already know how to wear.

Poplin is one of the oldest shirting constructions. That's the point.

The Albino mill has been refining it since 1876. The 80/2 warp count — two-ply yarn twisted for strength — is what separates a poplin that improves from one that simply wears out. This cloth presses smooth, takes a crease where you want it, and softens gradually without pilling or losing its surface. The shirt is cut oversized with a single back pleat that releases into a relaxed hem — enough volume to wear untucked without looking unconsidered, enough structure to tuck cleanly when the occasion calls for it. The placket is hidden. The mother of pearl buttons engraved with the Tess Lorenz mark are the only visible hardware. The stripe is a fine blue on white — the kind of stripe that has no trend cycle because it never entered one.
